When planning a trip to Africa, most people think of and want to view that continent’s BIG FIVE.
The Big Five consists of the elephants, rhinos, water buffalos, lions & leopards. Few are aware of the vast amount of bird species that make Africa their home. The quantity (in Kenya alone the count is over 1100) and diversity is outstanding and awesome to see, with some birds being the size of the palm of my hand, while others four & five feet tall!!
This September will be my 15th trip to Africa, and my 13th tour to Kenya. For most of my tours to Kenya, I have had my same guides (who by now are not only my driver/guides, but my friends too). Early on in our relationship I was thrilled to discover their keen knowledge & love of the bird species in their country, which has so enhanced my tour experience for everyone…..we get the thrill of seeing and photographing the big five, (and tons more from the mammal world) but the great opportunity to see and learn about the diverse avian community.
Enjoy just a few images I have here to share with you!!!
There is still time to book your African Experience with me………Don’t Wait!!
